When BRPH was selected to design a new facility for General Electric (G.E.), the goal for both the designer and client was to provide an employee-friendly, functional workplace. In keeping with its image as a leader in the rail and transportation industry, G.E. wanted to provide a workplace that was state-of-the-art as well as efficient and beautiful. Within its striking blue glass exterior is space for 550 employees and room for expansion. Facilities include a world-class software engineering and product prototype laboratory, a product demonstration and exhibit area, a training facility, 70-seat amphitheater, and a manufacturing assembly area.

For this landmark building, BRPH designed a contemporary high tech architectural style to link two building wings to a center building pod. The blue glass exterior serves a dual purpose: it reflects the sky and water of the entrance ponds to create a tranquil ambience outside and provides a soothing vista inside. A modular design layout maximizes critical space adjacencies while allowing for future expansion of each wing.

To promote healthy lifestyles among employees, the facility includes a food court, cafeteria, quarter mile jogging trail, volleyball and racquetball courts, and a complete exercise and aerobic fitness training facility.
