BRPH began working with Boeing on their 777x program beginning with their site selection process. Specialists performed an extensive review of over 50 site proposals from 20 states for Boeing’s new 777X manufacturing facility. Ultimately, they landed on the Everett, Washington campus and selected BRPH again to provide design, engineering and construction administration services.

The resulting design for the 40-58 Building supports Boeing’s Composite Wing Manufacturing process. The building footprint is approximately 1.2 million SF in area, with two mezzanine levels of office/engineering support space totaling approximately 187,000 SF. The building footprint is divided into two main areas, a 570,000 SF Controlled Contaminations Area (CCA) with which includes tightly controlled temperature and humidification to support the composite manufacturing process; and a 525,000 SF Post Cure Area of fully air conditioned space.

The Post Cure Area houses three autoclaves, the largest in the world, as well as paint booths with cure ovens, NDI testing, manufacturing trim, storage etc. Each of the main areas will be supported by an automated guided vehicle (AGV) for transportation of the composite assemblies between the autoclaves and individual manufacturing work cells.
