First SC-built Boeing Dreamliner rolls out of assembly building

NORTH CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - The first 787 Dreamliner rolled out of Boeing's 1.2 million square foot Final Assembly Building in North Charleston, South Carolina on Friday marking a significant milestone for the Dreamliner program.

BRPH officials joined community and company executives at the event in celebrating the first 787 plane built in South Carolina. BRPH designed the facility. This particular plane still has final preparations to go through before it is delivered to Air India.

Boeing now employs about 6,000 people at the facility. The goal is to produce 3.5 planes a month by the end of 2013.
